【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesamethodtoverifythegastightnessoftheexhaustsystemofroadvehiclesequippedwithaninternationalcombustionengine.Itisprimarilyintendedtoestablishamethodtodetectandlocalizeexhaustsystemleaksinordertoimprovethequalityofexhaustgasmeasurements.ItisalsointendedtocompletetherequirementsofISO3929andapplicableregulations.TheusersofthisInternationalStandardarewarnedthat:a)certainengineswithhighvalveoverlapscamshaftevents,especiallyengineswitheightormorecylinders,maynothaveallexhaustvalvesclosedwhentheengineisstopped.Thisissuemaycausetheleaktesttofail.Thissituationcouldbecorrectedbythedisassemblyoftheexhaustvalveactuationmechanismusingthevehicleorenginemanufacturer'srecommendedprocedure;b)nationalregulationsonthesubjectofpressurizingshouldbecheckedbeforetesting;c)detectedleakagecanbequantifiedundercertaintestconditions.ThisInternationalStandardalsospecifiesthemeasurementapparatusandnecessarydevices.Thismethodisparticularlyrecommendedfor:a)automotiveworkshops,b)laboratoriesbeforeanyemissiontests,c)testinganddiagnosticstations.Themeasurementapparatuscanbeusedattheendoflineofautomotiveandexhaustpartsmanufacturers.note:1)ISO3929:1995,Roadvehicles—Measurementmethodsforexhaustgasemissionsproducedduringinspectionormaintenance.
